A Reflection on Zephaniah 3:17
What does the song sound like?
The one that you sing over me.
What words do You use to describe just how much You love me?
Do You tell me I’m connected and that I will always belong?
Or do You sing out a spontaneous melody?
Whisper it gently to me,
This song that You sing over me.
I hear the wind, so I stop and listen closely.
Could it be, that Your voice, is near to me?
I anticipate that You want to reveal Heaven’s secrets to me,
So I’m listening
For the song that You sing over me.
Let me hear the song when the night is dark and lonely,
When shadows pile miles high.
Let me hear the song, when I’m bright and happy,
When all seems to be right in life.
Let me hear Your delight- boldly, loudly.
Let me hear Your declarations.
Let me hear the song that You sing over me.
May it drown out all other devotions,
May it silence my clamouring fear,
May worry flee at it’s presence,
May it bring joy near.
May shame bow and tremble,
May demons fear,
May heaven invade earth,
May love draw me near.
Please, God, let me hear
The song that You sing over me.
